This holiday season as I reflected on the past year, I realized how rich I was. Not necessarily financially but personally. I have a wonderful job, great friends, a roof over my head, and I am surrounded by a lot of love. This realization hit hard this holiday season as I drove home in the rain one day. Since then, I have really been motivated to do something to help those who may not be as fortunate as I this holiday season. Sooooo…..

As you may know, we are working with a charity called Life House. They feed the homeless every week in the OC and also hope to help rehabilitate those who are ready to start getting back on their feet. I have asked AccessoryGeeks and my church to help facilitate a canned food / sock drive. Life House is in need of canned food (preferably pop-top cans) and adult sized socks. They do not work with children (thankfully there are rarely  children with these adults) so there is no need for children sized socks. This drive will go until February 14, 2012. I urge you to donate whatever you can. If it is one pair of socks or one can of food, that is great. Life House’s motto comes from Mother Theresa who said, “If you can’t feed 100 then just feed one.” One can of food or one pair of socks can help.

If you’d like to make a monetary donation, those will be accepted too. If you have anyone who you would like to distribute fliers to, please go ahead! And please send the flier to everyone you know! I’m really hoping to get a lot of donations and get as many people involved in this as possible. Hopefully we will be able to make a difference in the lives of many, but if not, one is great too.
